Matt Ford has been a PGA Touring Professional for 20 years. He has played over 100 DP World Tour events and over 200 Challenge Tour events. With several highlights including a 2nd place finish on the European Tour (now the DP World Tour) in the Africa Open in 2015 and playing in the 150th Open at St Andrews, something that all kids dream of. Matt is a PGA Qualified Professional coaching at Kings Hill Golf Club, in Kent. Matts passion is competing and helping others strive to be the best they can be. Matt was born in Swindon while his dad, a Professional Footballer was playing for Swindon Town FC. Matts first love was football having played at County level. Matt started playing golf at the age of 10 and quickly fell in love with the game. Matt is based in Kent, England where he lives with his wife and two children who are both keen golfers and play at a high level. Matt has a category to play on the Challenge Tour in 2024 but will also be playing PGA South Region Events and Pro-ams, while driving his new coaching venture. Matt is excited for what the future has in store.

As an amateur Matt got to +3 handicap (the old system!) & was selected for the England Squad. After earning his Degree in Sports Science at Cheltenham C.H.E. in 2000 specialising in Sports Psychology he followed his desire to pursue a playing career. Matt turned professional at the end of 2003 and started his PGA training at Cobtree Manor Park GC, Maidstone. Matt won the PGA National Assistants in his first year which earned him a place at the PGA Championship at Wentworth. In 2020 Matt completed the rarely achieved double, winning the PGA Professional Championship also. Matt played PGA South Region, PGA Europro Tour and Challenge Tour for 10 years before earning his card on the European Tour, now the DP World Tour. Matt has had four 2nd place finishes on the Challenge Tour and multiple wins in PGA events and the PGA Europro Tour.

In 2014 he earned his European Tour Card after years of trying at the Qualifying School. Then in 2015 he had his best finish on the European Tour coming 2nd at the Africa Open at East London Golf Club. Later in that same year in Hong Kong he finished 7th to retain his tour card at the last event of 2015. He went into the event needing a special week & delivered! Matt lost his tour card in 2016 but went on to gain it again through the Challenge Tour in 2020, finishing 5th in the Standings. Which was a very strange year during the COVID Pandemic and the category he gained was very limiting. During COVID Matt also gained the European recognised CMAE Club Management Diploma. Unfortunately, the category gained in 2020 resulted in Matt being stuck between the DP World Tour & Challenge Tour in 2021 & 2022. In 2022 Matt Qualified for the 150th Open at St Andrews which was a once in a lifetime experience for him and his family creating life-long memories.
